Barbra Curtiss has been in the real estate industry for twenty four years. She has also owned and operated several small businesses; moved up quickly in a large property management corporation and today is the Owner-Broker of Barbra Curtiss Realty located in an Atlanta, Georgia suburb and founder and CEO of NSFRA, National Society of Female REO Agents. Barbra is also very proud of being elected as the Director of the newly formed Atlanta Chapter of The National Association for Female Executives, NAFE.

In 2002 Barbra began to see a trend as more and more banks and mortgage companies were calling her for help with their REO needs often telling her “You are the only one that called us back.” Due to the continued high level of service she has provided to her clients Barbra is one of the most respected REO brokers in the nation today. She says “I have been getting calls and emails from agents and brokers for years seeking help and advice with their REO business”. Once again Barbra saw a trend- the vast majority of the calls were from female agents and brokers. Recognizing the need, Barbra set her mind to meet it. “There will always be challenges in life no matter who you are or what you are doing. The important thing is to meet challenges head-on, solve the problems involved and move forward.” The need was clear- females in real estate need information and training in the REO industry. The main problem was the lack of an organization where women could come together to share their knowledge and experience. The challenge was to create a vehicle that was easily accessible to any and all females who wished to use it; provide the opportunity for open communication among its members and, most importantly, to be affordable for female agents and brokers everywhere. Barbra has created the National Society of Female Reo Agents as the solution.

The mission of NSFRA is to be an accessible, affordable organization for and by female agents wanting to improve their skills and career success in the Default Servicing Industry. Barbra grew up in Huntsville Alabama which back in the 1950's was a small farming town. She says “Being one of 4 daughters born to a farmer, we grew up working as if we were sons. I loved working in the fields with my dad! The smell of the outdoors, especially in the spring when the ground was broke for planting. The sweet smell of wild honeysuckle and the smell of fresh cotton in the fall as it was picked and headed for the huge cotton gins will always be some of my most cherished memories. Farm life was not easy but it taught me never to be afraid of hard work and it set deep rooted values that have been priceless through my career". Mother, grandmother, wife, avid outdoorsman and accomplished business woman Barbra is as much at home in the conference room as she is out on Lake Lanier fishing with her husband. Throughout her career she has always pursued excellence through a commitment to high standards, fair play and sound judgment. She has managed to achieve a rare balance between her personal and professional responsibilities
